How Do I Add Security (Access Restriction by IP)?

In this lesson, we will show how you can add Security (Access Restriction by IP). This will allow you to add IP (Internet Protocol) addresses of the computers that you would like to have access to your backend website.

**NOTE: Once this is set for the first time, only the IP addresses listed will have the ability to login to your backend website. A single IP address or an IP address range can be inputed in this section.

While in the "Profile" tab, you will notice four (4) rows that have been labeled according to what they represent. Click anywhere on the row labeled "Security (Access Restriction by IP)" and the pertinent security subsection will expand.

By default, your backend website will not have any IP addresses set.

To start adding a new IP address (or IP range), simply click on the "ADD NEW NET" button.

A new window will be displayed allowing you to enter your pertinent information related to your new IP access restriction entry.

  • Name: A simple name that you can use to easily remember your entry.
  • Net:      The IP address or IP address range that you would like to enter into the system.

Once you have finished entering your IP address information, press the "CREATE" button to have the changes take affect.

**NOTE: An IP address range can easily be inputed by entering the from and to addresses separated by a dash (-). For example, you can enter "71.177.2.6-71.177.2.26"

Your new Security (Access Restriction by IP) will be listed.
