How Do I Update a PDF Document?

This lesson will teach you how to simply modify (update) a PDF without having to delete and/or rename the PDF. This can be useful if only the documentation within the PDF has changed, rather than the name itself. An example of this would be a commonly used policy/procedure that is updated on a yearly basis.

Locate the name of the document you would like to update and move your mouse to the right of the row. You will now see a drop-down menu that has a downward facing arrow. Clicking on this downward facing arrow will display another option to "Edit" the document.

Click on the "Edit" option.

You will now see a screen that displays the basic information for the PDF document that is currently loaded into the system.

Press the "Delete" button to remove the currently loaded PDF document.

The PDF document will no longer reside on the system, and you will now see a button labeled "FILE."

Clicking on this "FILE" button will bring up your default computer systems file browser.

From the file browser you will have the ability to select a new PDF that you would like to be associated with the reference materials.

Depending on your operating system, you may need to select "Open" or "Choose" to select the PDF document.

Once the PDF has been successfully uploaded, the system will rename your PDF.

Do not be alarmed, as this renaming is randomly generated, but is required so your PDF document can be unique when stored on the website..

Once you have completed the above steps, pressing the "SAVE" button will save your latest changes.
