How Do I Add a New Device (iPad) to the System?

In this lesson, you will learn how to add new devices (iPad) that can be used within your department. Each device (iPad) must be "attached" to your department prior to being used.

Prior to adding devices to your system, you will need to acquire the "Unique Device Code" of the iPad on which you wish to use the ePCR application.

Once the application has been installed on your device, you will be shown a screen that will display your unique device code for that device.

From this screen, you can either write down the code, or email it to an email of your choice.

**NOTE: The code is not case sensitive, but it is important that you write the code down exactly as it is shown on your iPad device. No two unique device codes are alike.

On your backend website, navigate to the "Devices" tab (1) . Once here click on the "Add New Device" button (2).

You will then be presented with a prompt in which you will be required to fill out specific information related to your new device. You will be required to fill out all fields prior to creating (adding) a new device to your system.

  • UDID: Unique Device Code that you have from the beginning of this lesson.
  • Dispatch ID: The CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) dispatch ID of the new device. If needed, this can be changed later from the device at any time.
  • Device Inventory #: A three (3) digit numerical value that you will assign to that device (iPad). This number must be a number from 001-999, and can only be used one time in your department. This number is used for the sequence number generation and allows all sequence numbers from the many different devices that your department will own, to be unique from one another.
  • Description: This field is not required. This field can serve as a description for you to easily remember which device (iPad) you are putting into service.

Retry the Login on the device (iPad).

Retry the Login on the device (iPad).

Once you have completed all necessary steps, you will now have the ability to retry the ePCR application on the iPad device.

Click the "Retry Login" button on the ePCR application.

Once you have completed all necessary steps, you will be taken past the ePCR login screen.

You will now have the ability to use the ePCR application.

**NOTE: If this is your first time using the application, you will need to "Sync" the application. The "Sync" button can be found at the top-left of the application screen (shown above with a green arrow).
